Extra Curricular

It has not been untill this senior year of my life have I truely found something worth living for and spending my time in. After an ongoing struggle within my logic and understanding, it has been made clear what, or whome, I should put my faith in. Besides work and family, I've dumped a lot of my time into Manassass Assembly of God and my school's Edge club.

Manassas Assembly of God has an outstanding youth program for the youth of all ages. I am actively involved with their youth club, Fire Power, that meets every Wednesday night. It is a service with worship and lessons. We also have time to talk to our peers and council them with anything that is going on in their life. It has served as an amazing enviroment to grow in, and give back to my fellow peers.

I also attend the youth chior, Fire Fall. We meet every Wednesday night, practicing and rehersing for an upcomming performance within the church. We also join the adult chior from time to time, practicing songs for the Sunday morning services. For Christmas, the two chiors have joined to perform a series of carols for the entire church.

The church has also done several out reach programs and community service programs. The last one I participated in involved baggings thousands of pieces of clothes to be sent over seas for needy children. It was an exhausting day at the Manassass airport, but it ended with a lot of fun and many friendships made.

Edge Club is a youth outreach program that Manassass Assembly of God started several years ago. Our goal is to reach out to as many students as possible and discuss God and how our lifes are lived and meant to be lived. We inspire hope within the students, and also discuss real life events and how we are effected by them. Since the start of Edge club for the 2007-2008 school year, the number of attendies has doubled, bringing close to forty children together every Thursday after school.

Currently employeed at Best Buy in Gainesville, Virginia. While working thirty plus hours a week, I have maintained high grades and still participate in all of my outside school activities. While working at Best Buy, I have had near top sales in the department. I consistantly meet my goals and have a great customer interaction with every person. Sales has been an interesting aspect of work and although it is not what I plan on working in forever, this has so far been a good experience.

I have also worked at Cold Stone Creamery, ultimately leaving after working with the store for over one year, during which time I was promoted to shift lead, acting as a manager during my shifts. Cold Stone gave some great management experience that I still remember and cary with me.

This past summer I had the opprotunity to intern at TKC Communications, a technology contractor based from Alaska. I was origionally trained with a group of developers in the development of a BPM, or Business Process Managment system. I was then given the task of being a DBO, or database owner, of the development enviroment that was implemented for the BPM software. I ultimatley created a successful auditing procedure for one of the tables, and assisted in the coding of several web forms using ASP and .NET programming.
